A car crash in Okaloosa County killed a Niceville Police K-9 and left an officer injured.
The site of the crash was on Highway 85 near Highway 123. The Florida Highway Patrol said the collision happened when the Niceville Police pickup truck was attempting to change lanes at the same time a van was. The van hit the back of the police vehicle, which then overturned.
FHP says the officer sustained serious injuries in the crash, while the woman driving the van had sustained minor injuries.
A memorial service for Blue is in the works. FHP said the investigation is ongoing.
