The Poquito Bayou Community Association is hosting a Meet the Candidates Night at the Bob Hope Village Community Ballroom on Aug. 11.
After an informal social from 6:15-6:45 p.m. the candidates are expected to speak from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Invited to speak at the event are the candidates running for Florida’s 1st Congressional District, including Republican U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz, Republican Mark Lombardo, and Democrat Peggy Schiller. Also invited are County Commissioner and School Board candidates.
Kicking off the forum will be Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections Paul Lux with an update on election security.
