To honor the legacy of the former Pensacola Pelicans Independent League baseball team, the Pensacola Blue Wahoos will hold a celebration Saturday at their game against the Mississippi Braves.
Pensacola Pelicans Night will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Pelicans’ inaugural season.
The event will feature former Pelicans players like Larry Bethea, Pete Della Ratta and Trey Stephens, as well as former team manager Bernie Carbo.
Two former Pelicans, Joe Espada and Carlos Mendoza, are bench coaches for Major League Baseball teams, the Houston Astros and New York Yankees.
Fans can arrive at Blue Wahoo Stadium at 5 p.m.
