Bay County Commissioner Griff Griffitts defeated Brian Clowdus to win the House District 6 seat.
Griffitts won 66% of the vote compared to Clowdus’ 34%.
Griffitts is a Bay County native whose father Phillip Griffitts Sr. was Mayor of Panama City Beach from 1982 to 2000. GriffItts has also served on the Bay County Planning Commission, Tourist Development Council, and Bay Medical Sacred Heart.
Clowdus moved to Panama City in 2020 and started his own production company. He became active in politics when he campaigned for former President Donald Trump by knocking on doors.
The district covers all of Bay County.
