Amazonica brings South American flavors home to Florida

by Margaret Willard

When Ammiel Manevich first moved from Colombia to Miami, he noticed the city was missing the authentic flavors of his home country. His nostalgia for foods from Colombia sparked the idea of Amazonica, a shaved ice bar that sells street food items similar to the six countries that make up the Amazon.

Ammiel wanted to create a space for individuals to enjoy these foods and now Amazonica has grown to four locations.

He was able to grow his business and connect directly with customers through tools like Facebook and Instagram which allowed him to showcase their delicious offerings, answer questions quickly via Direct Message, and share new products.
