Republican U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio made an appearance in the Panhandle Wednesday as he campaigns for re-election this year.
Florida’s senior Senator joined the Walton Republican Women Federated in Miramar Beach. The group held their monthly barbecue luncheon, where Rubio addressed those gathered and stayed for photos.
Rubio is seeking a third term representing Florida in the U.S. Senate. He first won a seat in 2010 before earning re-election in 2016 after a failed presidential bid.
This year, Rubio will likely face Democratic U.S. Rep. Val Demings in the General Election, where Rubio appears to be favored.
