An internal poll from the Griff Griffitts campaign indicates the Bay County Commissioner has a sizable lead over his opponent Brian Clowdus in the House District 6 Republican Primary.
The poll, which was conducted last week, showed Griffitts leading 52% to 11%. Griffitts had a 65% to 10% lead over Clowdus among Republican voters. His lead among non-Republicans was 28% to 12%.
Poll respondents said fighting illegal immigration as their most important issue the Legislature needs to address.
HD 6 covers all of Bay County. The seat was left vacant by outgoing Rep. Jay Trumbull, who is running for Senate.
