Floridians forecasted to spend big on Easter

by Margaret Willard

The Florida Retail Federation forecasts that Floridians will spend $20.8 billion this year on Easter festivities.

According to a federation survey, consumers plans to spend $167 on average this year.

“Floridians are excited about springtime, and shopping for Easter festivities is the perfect way to celebrate,” said Florida Retail Federation Association CEO and President Scott Shalley. “When you’re preparing your Easter baskets and hiding treats for the egg hunt, remember to find it in Florida.”

Per the poll, 80% of shoppers will celebrate Easter. Off those polled, 56% plan to cook a holiday meal and 37% will go to church.
