Pensacola council member Sherri Myers is vying to become the city’s next mayor.
She joins five other candidates jockeying for the position. In a sit down interview with the Pensacola News Journal, Myers said the goal is to “leave no one behind.”
“I decided that this race needs to be about issues, and I don’t see it being about issues so that’s why I decided to get into the race,” Myers told the newspaper.
Myers is the longest-serving member of city council. Elected first in 2010, she’ll face the city’s term limit in November. Members are permitted 12 service years.
