Gov. Ron DeSantis has appointed Lee “Gene” Bailey to the Calhoun County Board of County Commissioners, the governor’s office announced.
It is not the first time Bailey has held this position. He was first elected in 1972, and served on the Calhoun County Board of County Commissioners from then until 1980. Bailey was once again elected in 2016.
The Blountstown resident was formerly a construction project consultant with the Florida Department of Corrections. He currently serves as a board member on the Apalachee Regional Planning Council.
Bailey has also served as the Chairman of the Calhoun County Board of County Commissioners.
