Gov. Ron DeSantis has appointed educator Cherie Hill to the School Board of Columbia County, the governor’s office announced.
The Lake City resident is no stranger to Columbia County schools, as she served as an award-winning teacher and principal. She was also assistant superintendent.
Hill earned her bachelor’s degree in history from Harding University and her master’s degree in elementary education from the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. She also received a certification in educational leadership from the University of Florida.
Hill is an adjunct instructor at Saint Leo University. She will replace Steve Nelson on the District 3 seat.
