First Lady Casey DeSantis honors 5 Panhandle nonprofits

Five nonprofit organizations in the Panhandle area were awarded $5,000 checks from Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis.

It’s a part of the Hope for Healing Florida initiative she recently launched to aid single moms and children aging out of the foster care system.

Recipients Westonwood Ranch, C.A.L.M. Organization, Emerald First Coast Exceptional Families, Hiland Park Baptist Church Ministries and Nextstep at Endeavor all help children and families in need.

“You are making the special needs families feel seen, heard and valued,” DeSantis said.

The First Lady also awarded the organizations the First Lady’s Medal for Courage, Commitment and Service.
