Bruce Beach park construction kicks off

by carlislewillard

Biggs Construction Company is beginning work on the first phase of a new, $6.3 million project to develop a park at Bruce Beach.

The first part of the construction project will include building a plaza and walkway surrounded by trees, which will lead people to the beach, according to an explainer from the Pensacola News Journal.

Biggs will also build a structure to protect from the sun, a garden, two public lawn areas and a bridge over Washerwoman Creek. That bridge will link the park with the Community Maritime Park.

The public first gained access to Bruce Beach back in 2018.
