First Judicial Nominating Commission elects new leaders

The First Judicial Nominating Commission elected a new Chair and Vice Chair.

The new Chair, Robert L. Jones III, served as Vice Chair this past year. He is a board certified tax lawyer and a partner of the firm Beggs & Lane. He specializes in tax law as well as corporate law, which includes mergers and acquisitions as well as health care and estate planning. Kerry Anne Schultz was elected Vice Chair. She was appointed to the commission by Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2020.

The JNC is a nonpartisan, nine-member Commission comprised of lawyers and non-lawyers who recommend candidates for judicial office.
