An attorney who gained notoriety for dressing up as the Grim Reaper to protest Gov. Ron DeSantis’ COVID-19 policies will appear on the ballot for Attorney General this year.
Santa Rosa Beach Democrat Daniel Uhlfelder qualified for the race last week and will face former State Attorney Aramis Ayala and Jim Lewis in the August Primary, with the winner moving on to face incumbent Republican Ashley Moody in November.
Before he took up Grim Reaper cosplay, Uhlfelder earned degrees from Stanford and UF law. He leads the Democratic field in fundraising with about $105,000 raised across about 2,000 individual donors.
