Gov. Ron DeSantis is releasing more than $23 million for Gilchrist County projects in the 2022-23 budget, approved during the Legislative Session.
That includes nearly $6.4 million each for resurfacing State Road 26 from Fanning Springs to Trenton and State Road 47 from County Road 232 to the Columbia County Line. The state will add nearly $5.5 million to resurface another portion of SR 47, from U.S. 129 to County Road 232 and $370,000 to boost law enforcement salaries, among other funding.
“My administration is dedicated to supporting opportunities for Floridians in rural communities,” DeSantis said.
