Panhandle residents find thousands in unclaimed property

by carlislewillard

Florida in April returned more than $884,000 in unclaimed property to Panhandle residents.

Unclaimed properties are financial assets that are lost or left behind by owners and in custody of the state – think uncashed checks or dormant accounts. Pensacola residents in March recovered $650,472 while Panama City residents scored $233,544, per the state.

“It’s your money and it only takes a few seconds to visit our website and discover if there are any unclaimed treasures in your name. Search today for yourself, your friends, your loved ones and even your business at FLTreasureHunt.gov,” said Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis.
