Pensacola native Martin Emerson is going to the big leagues.
A respected Mississippi State defensive back, the Cleveland Browns drafted Emerson with the 68th pick in the draft.
“Bring a little size, bring some physicality, just bring everything I’ve got,” Emerson told the Pensacola News Journal after the draft pick. “Excited to be a part of that room.”
Emerson is a graduate of Pine Forest High School in Pensacola. According to the newspaper, Emerson racked up 91 tackles and an interception while in high school.
The Cleveland Browns boast the 5th best pass defense and the No. ranked overall defense.
