A Florida man pled guilty last week to pocketing thousands of private donations intended to finance construction of the southern border wall.
According to federal prosecutors, Brian Kolfage of Miramar Beach failed to report income he received in 2019 from We Build the Wall.
An Air Force veteran, Kolfage launched the non-profit in 2019 and solicited donations on the promise of building private sections of the Southern border wall. He pled guilty Thursday in a New York federal court to three charges related to false filings.
Prosecutors say Kolfage tried to hide the funds by routing it through various organizations.
