The Panhandle may soon welcome a new gas station chain – Wawa. The company last week announced plans to expand into the Panhandle region over the next several years. Potential sites include Pensacola, Panama City and Tallahassee.
Wawa plans to break ground on more than 40 store locations across the region before 2024.
“Over the years, we’ve been delighted to hear from so many people from so many areas who are interested in having a Wawa closer to home,” said John Poplawski, vice president of real estate for Wawa.
2022 marks the 10th anniversary of Wawa’s first Florida location, which opened in Orlando.
