Red snapper fishing season to be longest in history

by carlislewillard

The 2022 red snapper fishing season will rank as the longest in state history. Gov. Ron DeSantis last week said the season will total 57 days.

The fishing calendar boasts a 45-day stretch over the summer from June 17 though July 31. It will also take place over several fall weekends.

“People travel from all over to enjoy the recreational opportunities we have in Florida that can’t be found anywhere else,” DeSantis said Thursday. “Florida is proud to continue providing access and opportunities to all who want to experience the Fishing Capital of the World.”
