The 2022 hurricane season is weeks away, and a recent report is encouraging Americans to brace for “above average” storm activity.
According to a Colorado State University report, this year’s season may host roughly 19 named storms and nine hurricanes – four of which may develop into major hurricanes.
“As is the case with all hurricane seasons, coastal residents are reminded that it only takes one hurricane making landfall to make it an active season for them,” warns the university’s meteorology report. “They should prepare the same for every season, regardless of how much activity is predicted.”
Hurricane season begins June 1.
