Panama City Beach Police seeking two new K-9s

by carlislewillard

The Panama City Beach Police Department will soon add two new K-9s to the force.

City officials on Thursday approved plans to acquire the four-legged crimefighters. The price tag: $26,000.

The department is staffed with four police dogs. Two, though, will soon retire. City officials plan to purchase the new K-9s from the Houston K-9 Academy in Houston, Texas.

“K-9s play an important role and are valuable members of our law enforcement team,” PCBPD Deputy Chief Chad Lindsey told The News Herald. “This purchase is to replace two valuable members of our K-9 team who have served this community well.”
