Bay County Commissioner Philip “Griff” Griffitts is leading the money race to replace Rep. Jay Trumbull in House District 6.
Griffitts represents Bay County’s District 5, which encompasses all of Panama City Beach. He is also the co-owner of a home construction business.
Griffitts’ campaign holds more than $133,400 in its coffers, according to the latest state report.
Brian Clowdus, a former Atlanta theater pioneer, is vying against Griffitts. He holds roughly $18,000 on hand.
No Democrat is running in HD 6. The district covers coastal Bay County, including Panama City, Panama City Beach, Lynn Haven and Mexico Beach.
