The University of West Florida’s football team will play home games at UWF’s campus instead of Blue Wahoos Stadium, UWF Athletic Director Dave Scott announced.
The Blue Wahoos Stadium has hosted UWF football games since the team’s inaugural 2016 season.
“It’s just a great venue and environment there, but part of starting football at UWF was about enhancing student life,” Scott said. “And we’re ready to create that opportunity on campus.”
During Monday’s announcement, Scott thanked the city and the Blue Wahoos for “five great seasons.”
The first game on the UWF campus will be Sept. 3 against Warner University.
